Résumé :
A (software) product line is a set of products in the same domain developed from reusable artifacts. Product-line engineering aims at software mass customization to achieve economies of scale and scope, providing faster time-to-market at higher product quality. The key challenge is managing variability, which is the ability to change or customize a system. In this talk, we motivate and illustrate product lines in different domains. We then explore related techniques for managing variability and configuring machine learning models declaratively.
Bio: Vander Alves is an associate professor of Computer Science at the University of Brasilia, Brazil, and a fellow of the Brazilian research council (CNPq). His research interests include theory and applications of software product lines, command and control, and formal methods. Previously, he was a CAPES-Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at the University of Passau, Germany, and held postdoc positions at Fraunhofer IESE, Germany, and Lancaster University, UK. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Federal University of Pernambuco, Recife, Brazil.
