• SwingStates
  SwingStates is an extension of the Java Swing toolkit to ease the programming of advanced interaction techniques. SwingStates introduces state machines in the Java language as a control structure to program interaction. State machines can be used with standard Swing widgets to redefine their behavior, or they can be used with the SwingStates powerful canvas to implement advanced interaction techniques. SwingStates is an open source project hosted by sourceforge (about 13000 lines of code). It is used for teaching Human Computer Interaction at Université Paris-Sud (Licence and Master).
• Touchstone
  Touchstone is a tool for conducting lab experiments. The design platform allows to define an experiment protocol by exploring different alternatives. It outputs the final protocol as an XML experiment script which refers to experiment components. The run platform allows (i) to program these experiment components as Java classes and (ii) to run the experiment script. TouchStone is an open source project hosted by Google Code (about 21000 lines of code).
• Stroke Shortcuts Toolkit
  Stroke Shortcuts Toolkit (SST) is a library to add stroke shortcuts to a Java Swing graphical user interface. It includes (i) the Design Shortcuts environment to define the mappings (stroke, command) for commands of Java Swing applications and (ii) a very simple API to activate these shortcuts in the application. The designer can decide to offer several types of visual clues to make end users able to learn these shortcuts (augmented tooltips, menu preview or strokes sheet). SST also provides an API to easily implement any stroke based interaction by offering high-level events and ways of handling these events (listeners or state machines). SST is an open source project hosted by Google Code (about 3000 lines of code).
• FlowStates
  FlowStates is a toolkit to program advanced interaction techniques which require non standard input (e.g., two different mice that act independently, a joystick, a tablet, etc.). It is built on top of two existing toolkits: SwingStates and ICon. With FlowStates the developer can program interaction logic using state machines like SwingStates does but does not restrict the set of possible input channels to Java AWT standard input (a single couple ). FlowStates offers a a huge power of expression by fully integrating two models for programming interaction (state machines and data flow). FlowStates is available here (about 1500 lines of code).
