Welcome to the home page of {PHPTMPL}, a template engine entirely written in PHP. Of course there are many templates engines out there, and I will not ask you to vote for mine as the best one on any website. But I wrote it as when I started working on webpages involving lots of 'copy-paste' of ugly automatically generated HTML and Co., I decided that it would be nice to use templates, and the systems I knew at the moment were not powerful enough to do what I wanted. Thus I came up with this engine, and as I think it might be as useful to you as ir is to me, I put on a documentation and made this website... For the newcomers, a template system enables you to separate the process of writing the HTML design and the process of filling the webpages. ie: the graphics will be done on the one hand by a guy who will use something which will make really ugly code, that the last thing you want to do is to have to study precisely, and on the other hand the people who want to use the beautiful design he made, but without having to look at the ugly code... This website itself is an example of how easy it is to change the 'skin' of your website without needing to copy-paste all your text inside a new layout.
