Useful tools for working in Tao or more generally in the LRI

• how to find bugs (you MUST know valgrind)
• ssh-keygen is necessary for using ssh properly. CHOOSE AN EMPTY PASSPHRASE (it's more comfortable for scripts using ssh). See this howto if you are not able of using ssh-keygen.
• for parallel-programming: MPI ( your first MPI example; how to launch a MPI program)
• might be interesting if you want to test multithreading without multithreaded computers: Single System Image (see wikipedia) (typical example: Mosix)
• if you are dummy in terms of cvs, and if you speak french, read this
• The cluster at the LRI:
  • always compile on a tipi if you want to run on a _good_ tipi
  • tipis32,33, etc are better than tipis00, tipis01, ..., tipi31
  • tipi47 is debian 64 bits
  • there are tipis, but there are also sims
