Title: Resource allocation in cellular networks We used the Opnet simulator to validate the performance of our resource reservation schemes proposed to cellular mobile systems. These schemes consist in sending reservation requests to the neighbouring cells based on real-time measures of mobile users. The results of this research were published in several international conferences such as PIMRC (2005) and WPMC (2005). Title: Sensor networks Some of our research works have concerned multi-sink relocation for target tracking in sensor networks. We proposed a new approach to optimize the network lifetime by moving the sinks toward the optimal positions. The performance evaluation of this solution was validated using Opnet simulator. The results concerning this work have been published in international conferences (ICNS 2007). Title: Vehicular networks We develop MAC and routing protocols for vehicular networks. We are studying several solutions for a best usage of the road infrastructure to enhance the performance of the routing protocols. We want to experiment the whole infrastructure scenario in Opnet environment and verify the best parameters to use in this kind of networks. Title: Mobile WiMAX networks Our current studies concern scheduling mechanisms in MAC and physical layers of the IEEE 802.16e standard. We also focus on mobility management and cross layer design and optimization of protocols. OPNET Technologies, Inc. is a leading provider of solutions for managing networks and applications.
