• Instrumental Interaction: An Interaction Model for Designing Post-WIMP Interfaces, Beaudouin-Lafon, ACM CHI 2000.
• Reification, Polymorphism and Reuse: Three Design Principles for Designing Visual Interfaces, Beaudouin-Lafon & Mackay, AVI 2000.

2. Send by email your answers to the three exercises:

• Exercise 1 - list as many uses of a pencil as you can think of
• Exercise 2 - list 4 activities and for each of them list as many uses of a pencil as you can think of
• Exercise 4 - pick a (sufficiently complex) software and identify the tools that are available
