Benoît Groz
Vita
I am currently working at Univ. Paris Saclay, in the LahDAK (Data and Knowledge) team of the LRI. Before that, I began working on CrowdSourcing as a Postdoc in the Data Management group at Tel-Aviv University, under the direction of Tova Milo. I have previously worked as a PhD student in the MOSTRARE team, at Lille1 University. My thesis dealt with database security, especially access control in XML documents. This PhD has been supervised by S.Tison and co-advised by S.Staworko, in a work with Y.Roos, AC.Caron, and I.Boneva.

PhD thesis
Previous work during school years at the ENS CACHAN:
- Inclusion and Equivalence of Conjunctive Queries
under supervision from Luc Segoufin M2report (in french) - Counting with Presburger Constraints over Unranked Trees
under supervision from Wolfgang Thomas Licence report - Optimal Strategies for Reachability in Concurent Games
under supervision from JF.Raskin
Scientific Interests :
I am mainly interested in formal methods for computer science : algorithmics, graphs, logics, automata, game theory, complexity, querying uncertain data, crowdSourcing...
Teaching :
These years I am mostly teaching:
- Datawarehouses (focusing on ROLAP technology, but also on NoSQL systems):
Multi-dimensional model, OLAP, logical schemas, SQL analytical queries, partitioning, indexes, ETL processes, architectures, column stores, in-memory DB, NoSQL and distributed DB (MongoDB, Hadoop, Spark...) and a (limited) introduction about Data Wrangling in Python. - Introduction to Databases
Relational Model, SQL, normalization, E-R, Concurrency, PL/SQL, Interactions between DBMS and applications.
